03Mission Cultural diversity and inclusion

We know each other badly when we never speak

This neighbourhood holds families from everywhere. They pass each other at the corner shop, at the school, at the bus stop — and almost never speak. Our events exist to make those occasions: a table, a dish, an evening, and people who leave knowing each other a little.

  • Cultural events
  • Community meals
  • Intercultural dialogue
  • Neighbourhood gatherings

Intercultural events

Several times a year we hold evenings and days where every culture present has its place: food, music, stories, craft. These are not performances to watch: they are gatherings to take part in.

They are open to everyone without exception, and entry is usually free; a membership fee may apply.

Community meals

A meal is still the simplest way to bring together people who do not know each other. You eat, you help yourself, you pass the dishes, you talk.

Our community meals are prepared by our volunteers or by a caterer. Come alone, as a couple or as a family.

3.3

Neighbourhood gatherings and dialogue

Inclusion is not declared in a closed room. We take part in what happens in the neighbourhood, and we open our doors to neighbours, schools, organisations and elected officials who want to know us.

Partnerships

We work with other organisations in the neighbourhood rather than each on our own. A joint event reaches more people, costs less, and builds lasting ties between the teams.
